Kevin Hackerott

Kevin Hackerott, who spent the previous eight years as the head girls basketball coach at Goddard High School, became the associate head coach on August 21, 2020.

In 2022-23, Hackerott helped the program reach double-figure wins for the second-straight season. Hackerottsaw Iyana Dorsey be named to the All-WAC Second Team as she led the WAC last season with three games of 30 or more points scored and set a program record for most free throws made in a single season with 147. 
 
Hackerott also saw the Vaqueros set a program record with a .730 free throw percentage while finishing the season with 217 made three-pointers, which ranks tied for fourth in program history. 

In his second season with the program, Hackerott saw the program reach double-figure wins with two of those wins came against the top two teams in the WAC on the road after knocking off Grand Canyon and stopping Stephen F. Austin’s 32-game conference win streak and 38-game home win streak. 
 
Following the win at SFA, Hackerott helped the Vaqueros keep rolling into the WAC Tournament where they picked up wins over Seattle U and Abilene Christian. Lord saw Taylor Muff be named to the All-WAC Second Team and the All-Newcomer Team. 

In 2020-21, Hackerott helped the Vaqueros through a season like no other while seeing them maintain their excellence in the classroom with a team GPA of 3.38 and 13 AD Honor Roll Recipients. 
 
Hackerott saw Amara Graham become the eighth player in program history to surpass the 1,000 career point mark as she finished the season as the WAC’s leading scorer with 16.5 points per game. 
 
Hackerott guided Graham and Sara Bershers to All-WAC honors as Graham was named to the All-WAC Second Team and Bershers earned All-WAC Honorable Mention. The Vaqueros finished the season second in the WAC with 6.9 three-pointers made per game. 
 
While at Goddard, Hackerott led his team to a 22-3 record in 2018-19 and a state championship appearance. He wrapped up his time at Goddard with two state tournament appearances, two league titles, and three Coach of the Year awards.
 
Prior to his time at Goddard, Hackerott was the head coach at Wellington High School from 2008-13, where he led the team some of its best years in program history, including a 21-3 record and a state tournament appearance in 2012. Additionally, Hackerott led Wellington to two league titles and was named Coach of the Year twice.
 
Hackerott has collegiate head coaching experience, having spent two seasons at Cameron University before taking the reins at Wellington. Prior to his time at Cameron, Hackerott spent three seasons as the head coach at Pratt Community College, where he racked up 67 wins and the program’s first NJCAA Division I Top-25 ranking by coming in as high as No. 13 in 2003-04. Hackerott started his head coaching career at Highland Community College in 2002. 
 
Hackerott graduated from Saint Mary of the Plains College in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and then earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from Kansas City in 1995.
