Krisynthia Sampson joined the program as an assistant on Sept. 1, 2023.
Sampson was a member of the UTRGV women’s basketball team from 2017-19 while playing one season under Head Coach Lane Lord. Throughout her two seasons, Sampson averaged 7.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while playing in 62 career games and making 40 starts.
Prior to her time at UTRGV, Sampson played a couple of seasons at Arizona Western College where she earned First Team All-Region and First Team All-Conference honors after averaging 11.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.4 steals per game as a sophomore.
Sampson graduated from UTRGV in 2019 with a multidisciplinary degree and is currently working on her master’s in sports management.
After graduation, Sampson played two years of semiprofessional basketball with the Phoenix Lady Elite 1’s and the Arizona Ice of the Women’s Basketball Association.
