Randi Lininger joined UTRGV as an Assistant Athletic Trainer during the winter of 2017. She works primarily with volleyball, and men’s and women’s tennis, while assisting with other teams and student-athletes as necessary.
Prior to joining UTRGV, Lininger worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for St. Mary-Corwin Orthopedics as well as the Head Athletic Trainer at Pueblo South High School. She worked in these positions from 2011-17.
At the orthopedic clinic, Lininger worked closely with the Sports Medicine Surgeon, providing patient care such as intake/triage, casting, bracing, and wound care, handling administrative duties, and functioning as part of the Sports Specialist Outreach Program working with the local high schools and CSU-Pueblo.
At Pueblo South, Lininger worked with all sports for practice and game coverage, as well as providing preventative and rehabilitative programs for the student-athletes.
Originally from Sacramento, Calif., Lininger earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Colorado State University-Pueblo in 2011 and completed her Master of Science in Sports Psychology at California University of Pennsylvania in 2012.
Lininger had fellowship with the Colorado Rapids Soccer Club during the 2013 season and has also done work with the USA Field Hockey and USA Rugby organizations.
Lininger is a Licensed Athletic Trainer through the state of Texas and is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
