Vinicius Baigan joined the volleyball program as an assistant coach on May 18, 2015 andw as promoted to associate head coach on May 2, 2022.
Baigan has been critical in helping to build a team that won its first WAC and WAC Tournament Championships in 2018 and 2016, respectively. His responsibilities include recruiting, assisting with practice and in-match coaching.
A 2015 member of the America Volleyball Coaches Association’s (AVCA) Thirty Under 30 list, Baigan, served an assistant coach with the men’s and women’s volleyball programs at Park University for the previous three years.
Earlier in 2015, Baigan earned AVCA Midwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year honors after helping the Park women’s team to a 40-0 record and the NAIA Championship, including a victory over UT Brownsville in the title game, which was coached by current head coach Todd Lowery. He also helped the Park men’s team to the 2014 NAIA Championship.
Baigan was a vital part of the Park coaching staff, serving as the program's chief recruiting assistant. He also assisted in the day-to-day operations of the program and helped to coordinate video exchange with opposing coaches.
Baigan began his affiliation with Park in 2009, beginning his playing career in the 2010 season after transferring from Missouri Valley College. In his final year as a student-athlete, Baigan led Park to the 2012 NAIA Championship as a team captain.
In three seasons as a student-athlete, Baigan was a key cog in Park’s back row, racking up 229 digs in 80 matches (227 sets), as well as 87 assists in 27 matches en route to All-Conference honors as a senior.
Baigan went on to play professionally for Zenith Volleyball in the Caribbean Volleyball League, hosted by Trinidad & Tobago. Baigan earned Best Libero honors while leading his team to the championship match.
Originally from Osasco, Brazil, Baigan earned a bachelor's degree in business marketing and an MBA in International Business at Park.
