The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced the addition of Aaron Seminski as the Director of Track & Field Operations starting on Jan. 12, 2026.
Seminski brings experience working with track & field athletes at the high school, collegiate and professional levels across multiple disciplines, including jumps, sprints and hurdles. His most recent stop prior to joining UTRGV was serving as the assistant sprints coach at IMG Academy.
At IMG Academy (2024-25), Seminski coached student-athletes to four All-American performances, including the 4x100-meter girls relay, the 4x400-meter boys relay, Dylan Woodruffe in the boys 100-meter dash, and Mikey Swanson in the freshman 400-meter dash. Swanson won the New Balance Indoor and Outdoor Championships and set meet records in both. He also coached the 100-meter dash silver medalist at the CARIFTA Games.
Seminski’s collegiate coaching stops include Florida State (2018-19), Oklahoma (2017-18), Texas A&M (2016-17), and Central Michigan (2012-13). He worked with sprinters, horizontal jumpers and hurdlers during those stints. Seminski was the Director of Operations at Central Michigan and the operations assistant at Florida State. At Texas A&M, Seminski coached Jeff Prothro to a 13th-place finish at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor National Championships in triple jump and contributed to the Aggies winning the 2017 men’s indoor national championship.
Seminski was the head track & field coach at Parrish Community High School in Florida from 2021-23. He sent 28 student-athletes to the 2A and 3A Florida High School Athletic Association State Championships in two seasons; previously, the school had not had any qualifiers. He has also worked in the professional ranks at Tumbleweed Track Club in Jacksonville, Florida (2024). He spent time overseas working as the Director of Performance at Michael Johnson Performance Dubai (2018) and was a coach and athlete guide with the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee (2011-12). With the USOPC, Seminski trained Tanner Gers, the gold medalist of the F11 men’s long jump at the 2011 Parapan American Games (visual impairment classification).
Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Seminski was a sprinter at the NCAA Div. I level at Arizona, where he earned a Bachelor of Political Science.
Seminski will take charge of travel coordination for the program and take care of other logistics while working alongside the assistants to elevate the program’s initiatives.
