Cynthia Sauceda joined UTRGV Athletics on Nov. 14, 2022 to be the Assistant to the Director of Athletics.
Sauceda previously served as the administrative assistant for a probation officer in the U.S. District Courts. She gained experience preparing and processing forms, documents and reports, maintaining and analyzing data, and coordinating communication. Sauceda is committed to accuracy and timeliness, and her eye for detail and creative, quick thinking aid her problem-solving abilities.
Sauceda has over three years of experience running programs, most notably as the program specialist for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). She was the Law Enforcement Liaison for the local MADD office, focused on developing and maintaining relationships with various law enforcement agencies in Hidalgo and Cameron counties. She organized and facilitated law enforcement recognition events, public speaking engagements and training for volunteers.
She was raised in Lubbock and graduated from South Texas High School for Health Professions in Mercedes. She graduated with a 4.0 GPA from West Texas A&M and was a two-time President’s List honoree, and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and National Society of Leadership and Success.
