Eddie Galvan joined UTRGV Athletics in Aug. 2021 and was promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Development and Premium Seating in March 2023 after previously serving as Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Sales & Operations since Sept. 2023 and Ticket Sales & Operations Assistant and Assistant Director for Ticket Sales & Operations before that.
Galvan is leadinh planning and execution for football’s ticket sales and operations. He has a hand in game day logistics, ticket pricing, season ticket holder retention, seating assignments, staffing and box office operations for UTRGV Football. Galvan will continue to manage the ticket sales website, set up group visits to competitions and create relationships in the community to draw supporters to the Vaqueros.
During his tenure, Galvan has played an immeasurable role in UTRGV Athletics welcoming nearly 100,000 fans during the 2022-23 athletic year, leading to record ticket revenue and attendance records for multiple teams. Galvan facilitated ticket sales for UTRGV Baseball's program-record crowd of 6,418 when the Vaqueros hosted Texas in 2022, and when UTRGV hosted a doubleheader including Texas at Bert Ogden Arena which drew nearly 7,000 fans.
Galvan came to UTRGV after spending seven months as an account manager with Grainger Industrial Supply in San Antonio, where he serviced more than 200 small to medium-sized companies while keeping his book of business 115-to-145% over his monthly revenue goal.
Galvan has previous experience in college athletics, having served as a communications and marketing assistant while a student at UTSA. He also worked in the Office of the Vice President for Business Affairs as a marketing assistant.
Galvan has also previously worked in sports in the Rio Grande Valley, serving as a marketing intern for Bert Ogden Arena, H-E-B Park, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and RGV FC in 2019.
Galvan graduated from UTSA with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing in May 2020. He is currently working toward a Master of Business Administration at UTRGV.
