Michelle Gonzalez joined the UTRGV Athletics staff as accountant II in March 2024.
Gonzalez joins UTRGV after spending 18 years at the Boys and Girls Club of McAllen working in a variety of roles, most recently serving as an Assistant Controller. In this role, Gonzalez would supervise all monies coming in and out of the organization through donations, sponsorships, grant funding, and sales.
As a teenager, Gonzalez began working at the Boys and Girls Club of McAllen as a floater. She served as the assistant arts and crafts instructor and was promoted to accountant before landing her final role of Assistant Controller.
Gonzalez wore many hats in her tenure with the Boys and Girls Club, completing countless tasks at a high efficiency. She created and maintained cash flow of the organization by verifying and reconciling deposits and ensuring that invoices were completed and that payables were updated and paid. She supervised payroll and payroll taxes, completed quarterly federal and state reports, and even maintained the inventory log for equipment.
While working at the Boys and Girls Club, Gonzalez graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Management from legacy institution UTPA in August 2015.
