Rolando Reyna

Rolando Reyna joined UTRGV Athletics on March 18, 2024 after spending 23 years as a Construction Machinery Operator for UTRGV. 

In his new role, Cantu is partially responsible for maintaining the grass fields at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex, UTRGV Baseball Stadium, and the future practice fields at the Vaqueros Performance Center. 

As a construction machinery operator, Reyna provided proper maintenance and upkeep on all campus, sidewalks, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other campus features, was responsible for maintaining grass, plants, and trees around campus, determined proper treatment for unhealthy plants, assisted with daily grounds maintenance schedule, and assisted in the transportation of plants and trees from the UTRGV Greenhouse. Reyna also installed and repaired irrigation lines to ensure proper watering of campus greens.
 
Reyna is certified to operate a wide range of heavy equipment and machinery, including, the backhoe, excavator, trencher, bucket truck, dump truck, boom lifts, and riding mowers.
