Molly Castner

Molly Castner, who worked for current Vice President and Director of Athletics Chasse Conque at Little Rock from 2016-19, most recently as the Deputy Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator, joined UTRGV in the same capacity on Sept. 3, 2019.

Castner, who initially worked at Little Rock in 2004-05 as an Assistant Academic Advisor for Student-Athletes, returned as Academic Success Advisor and Assistant Compliance Director in July 2016. She was promoted to Senior Woman Administrator/Title IX Coordinator in June 2017. Castner served as the sport administrator for women’s soccer, women’s swimming, and men’s and women’s track & field/cross country, as the chair of the data committee for the Little Rock Diversity Council, the liaison for athletics to admissions, housing, and financial aid, a voting delegate at the 2019 NCAA Convention, and the point person for the Grant Group Title IX review in 2017. She also helped to cultivate three record breaking department cumulative grade point averages (GPA), punctuated by a 3.36 GPA.

After earning her Master of Arts in College Student Affairs from Little Rock in 2006, Castner went to work with the women’s soccer, field hockey and wrestling programs as an Athletics Administrative Assistant at Boston University (BU). Her responsibilities included maintaining prospective student-athlete recruitment databases, organizing travel for coaches and teams, and supervising work-study students.

Castner expanded her areas of expertise in higher education by working as International Programs Student Services Administrator at BU from 2007-10, Financial Services Counselor at The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in 2010-11, and Admissions Coordinator for Harvard Law School in 2011-12. She went on to work at New York University (NYU) as Global Network Financial Aid Counselor from 2012-14, Senior Global Network Financial Aid Counselor in 2014-15, and Associate Director of Admissions for NYU Shanghai in 2015-16.

Originally from Danbury, Conn., Castner competed in track & field at Florida State, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Education and Sport Management in 2002.
