After Tough Losses Broncs Still Searching for First Win

EDINBURG - "We're really just trying to get a victory," says Coach Eloy Moran of Pan American University's soccer Broncs.

After three bitter losses, each by one goal, the Broncs travel to battle Austin College in Sherman at 8 p.m. Friday. Then the Broncs go to North Texas in Denton at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The Broncs don't play again at home until 2 p.m. next Thursday, Sept. 29, against Schreiner College. That game was added to the original schedule.

"The team just has to move up that mental aspect and have that desire to get a victory," Moran said. "It has just been difficult-- and hard to lose by one goal every time, especially when we have been in the lead all three games."

Pan American dropped its opener in overtime, 3-2, at Incarnate Word College in San Antonio. The Broncs came home and lost another heartbreaker in the rain to Texas-San Antonio, 3-2. The Broncs lost to Hardin-Simmons on a neutral field in San Antonio, 2-1.

Hurricane Gilbert cost the Broncs a trip to Texas Christian University last week, but the postponed game at TCU has been rescheduled Nov. 2 in Fort Worth. The Broncs' game at St. Edward's in Austin hasn't been rescheduled yet and may not be made up.
