KANSAS CITY, Mo - Brian Evans booted a penalty kick in the 81st minute Monday and Missouri-Kansas City cooled off the University of Texas Pan American soccer team, 3-2.

Victor Ramos scored in the 54th minute and Rafael Cardenas in the 70th minute to give the Broncs a 2-1 lead, but UMKC's Kangaroos came back with two late goals.

UTPA had won two straight road games, 3-2 at Southwest Missouri State and 5-3 at Oral Roberts University. The Broncs are now 2-5-1.

UMKC held Mario Ribera, UTPA's leading scorer, to just two shots at goal Monday.

The Broncs ended their string of eight straight road matches Monday. The Broncs play their home opener at 12 noon Saturday, in Edinburg againts Monterrey Tech.
