Broncs Fall to Tulsa in Oklahoma

TULSA, Okla. - Anthony Pampillonia and John Ackland kicked second-half goals to carry the University of Tulsa to a hard-fought soccer victory Sunday over Texas-Pan American, 2-0.

Pampillonia, a freshman from Richardson, Tex., scored from the goal area on a cross at the 53-mark. Ackland, a junior from Boulder, Colo., booted a direct kick from 12 yards at the 66th minute.

Tulsa's defense limited the Broncs to nine shots on goal and goalkeeper Derek Pittman stopped all nine of them.

UTPA goalkeeper Scott Brown, who had shutout Oral Roberts 1-0 in an overtime Bronc victory Saturday, had seven saves Sunday but Tulsa's Hurrican also took nine shots on goal.

Three Broncs drew yellow cards-- Reynaldo Cisneros, who scored the team's first goal of the college season Saturday; Hector Lopez and Luis Cardenas. The home team had one yellow card despite 33 fouls to the visitors' 32.

UTPA's next games are against Centenary of Louisiana in Dallas next Saturday and at Southern Methodist next Sunday.
