Broncs Soccer falls to Centenary

DALLAS - Centenary College of Louisiana broke down Texas-Pan American's soccer defense three times with one-on-goalie runs Saturday and shutout the UTPA Broncs, 4-0.

Albert Flores got caught in every goalie's nightmare after holding the Centenary Gentleman scoreless the first 40 minutes. It was 1-0 at the half. UTPA fell to a 1-2 record going into a 3 p.m. Sunday game at SMU. Centenary improved to 4-2.

Reynaldo Cisneros, of UTPA, missed scoring by inches late in the game when his 20-yard blast on a free kick soared just high.

"In the first half we got plenty of good shots at goal--10-- but only three in the second half," said Dr. Miguel Paredes, UTPA coach. "We basically collapsed in the second half offensively.  We weren't able to control the midfield. It was a good field in good condition and we have no excuses."
