San Antonio, Texas - Texas-San Antonio (12-10) took a 21-6 win over Texas-Pan American (14-16) today. This was the second straight win over the Broncs for the Roadrunners. UTPA remains on the road taking on Dallas Baptist, March 26-27. The 26th is a doubleheader scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. while the 27th is a single game at 1:00 p.m.

Juan Saenz (Jr./Mission, Texas/Mission HS) hit a double to left field that scored Garza and moved Ortiz to third. Matt Sisk (Sr./Fort Worth, Texas/Arlington Heights HS)grounded out to drive in Ortiz and make it 2-0.

Texas-San Antonio would counter those runs in the bottom of the first inning. Sam Mitchell led off with a double to center field. An error in the Broncs infield allowed J.R. Voyles to reach first and Mitchell to go to third. A triple to right field by Ryan Crew drove in Mitchell and Voyles. Following a strike out, Chris Lewis singled to score Crew and make it 3-2, UTSA.

In the second inning, with two outs, T.J. Gilmer (So./Forney, Texas/Forney HS) walked and then stole second. The Roadrunners broke the game open as they scored 10 runs off of seven hits and one error in the bottom of the second inning.

For UTPA, Flowers was 2-for-3, had a double and drove in two runs, Gilmer scored two runs and Louie Alamia (So./Edinburg, Texas/Edinburg North HS) scored a run after being hit by a pitch, which extended his reaching base safely streak to 41 games. Ryne Foster (Fr./Cedar Park, Texas/Cedar Park HS) gave up eight hits and nine runs in one and two-third innings to fall to 0-2.

For UTSA, Crew was 3-for-6, scored three runs and drove in five, Lewis was 4-for-4, scored two runs and drove in two runs while Michael McKennon was 4-for-6, scored two runs and drove in four runs. Jacob Sansom gave up five hits and four runs in five innings to improve to 1-0.

"When you give up 13 runs in the first two innings, you are not pitching." Said head coach Willie Gawlik. "Texas-San Antonio took advantage of our pitching today. With 15 of their 20 base hits going for extra bases, that means they hit the ball well. When you have two out, you cannot let your opponent score ten runs. Someone has to make a play and we didn't. It was just one of those days."
