Fayetteville, Ark. - #11 Arkansas (34-16) got a measure of revenge with its 13-2 win over Texas-Pan American (22-29). The Broncs had beaten Arkansas twice back on March 6-7 in Edinburg. The Broncs head to Norman, Oklahoma, May 15-16 to close out the 2004 season against #18 Oklahoma. The game on the 15th is scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m. and the game on the 16th is set to start at 1:00 p.m.

Texas-Pan American drew first blood against the Razorbacks. With two outs in the first inning, Matt Eichel ripped a single to centerfield to score Tony Ortiz and make it 1-0, Broncs. The Razorbacks picked up their runs in spurts with two in the first and third innings and one each in the second and fourth innings.

UTPA closed the gap a bit in the fifth innings. Marco Garza crushed a double to left centerfield and moved to second on a grounder. Another grounder, this one by Matt Sisk pushed Garza across the plate to make it 6-2. Arkansas scored seven runs over the next three innings to put the game away.

For UTPA, Eichel was 2-for-4, and drove in a run and Garza had a double and scored a run. That double by Garza was his 189th career hit and tied the school record held by Matt Siskowski (1994-97) and Leo Salinas (1997-98, 00). Tommy Sorden gave up six hits, five runs and struck out three batters in two and one-third innings to fall to 2-5.

For Arkansas, Casey Rowlett was 3-for-3 and scored a run, Blake Parker was 3-for-5, scored three runs and drove in two runs and Haas Pratt drove in two runs and had 16 put outs. Daryl Maday gave up three hits, one run and struck out two batters in three innings to improve to 4-0.
