Final Stats

FARMVILLE, VA--The University of Texas-Pan American women's basketball program lost to Gardner-Webb University (GWU) Sunday afternoon (Nov 29) 74-57, on the final day of the Lancer Classic, hosted by Longwood University.

Freshman Bianca Torre led the Broncs with a career and season high 23 points and added four assists. Maria Ben Erlingsdottir and Aleeya Grigsby each added 10 points. The Lady Broncs out rebounded Gardner-Webb 34-32, with GWU holding the advantage in points in the paint, 22-14.

The Broncs jumped out to an early lead on a three-point basket by Torre with 18:38 showing on the clock in the first half, but the Lady Broncs were unable to gain their rhythm and trailed the rest of the game.

Courtney Epps led GWU with 14 points, followed by Brianna Dillard with 11 points. As a team, GWU shot 46.3% from the field, and 38.9% from beyond the three-point line.

The Lady Broncs will be back in action this Tuesday, Dec. 1 as they face Arkansas-Pine Bluff at the UTPA Fieldhouse with game time slated for 7:00 p.m.
