The NJIT Highlanders were a bit much for the Lady Broncs (3-10, 1-2) as the Highlanders (10-5, 1-0) swept UTPA in three straight matches this Friday (Sept. 15) afternoon at the Sharp Gymnasium in Houston, Texas.

The Lady Broncs struggled in the first two sets as NJIT took the sets in quick 25-13 and 25-14 wins.

UTPA put up a fight in the third set, but were unable to finish off the Highlanders as NJIT captured the 25-23 win.

Marci Logan put up a team-high 13 kills on 30 total attacks and three errors for a .333 hitting percentage along with seven kills and one block (1 block assist).

Three Lady Broncs finished in double-digit digs with Kaitlin Vasquez and Rebecca Toddy collecting 12 digs and Rita Gonzalez with 10, who also contributed 11 assists.

NJIT's Renata Pandolfo posted a match-high 15 kills on 39 total attacks and three errors (.308) along with 14 digs, while Sabrina Baby added 18 digs for the Highlanders.

The Lady Broncs continue with conference play as they face Chicago State tomorrow afternoon (Sept. 26) at Sharp Gymnasium at 12 noon.
