EDINBURG, Texas – The University of Texas-Pan American women's basketball team travels to San Marcos, Texas Sunday to face the Bobcats of Texas State University at 2 p.m. (CT).
The Broncs (5-6) enter Sunday's contest following a win over the University of North Texas Mean Green Friday evening at the UTPA Fieldhouse. UTPA remains undefeated at home this season, 4-0.
Sophomore guard Bianca Torre scored a career-high 32 points against the Mean Green. Her 32 points tied her for eighth in the record book with Becky Dube, who scored 32 points against Texas A&I Nov. 22, 1985. Torre is averaging 18.4 point per game to lead the Broncs, and ranks second on the Great West Conference (GWC) leader board.
Junior Ce'Monay Newell is averaging 15.7 points per game, for third in the GWC. Adanna Opara is posting 9.2 points per game and leads the team in rebounds with 6.8 per game.
The Bobcats (3-5) enter the contest following back-to-back losses to Southwestern Assemblies of God and Air Force. Their three wins this season came against East Texas Baptist, UT-Tyler and Weber State.
Sophomore Diamond Ford leads Texas State in scoring with 9.8 points per game, followed by senior Anna Brzowski with 9.1 points per game.
Sunday's game also marks the fourth game UTPA has played against a Southland Conference team this season. Earlier in their campaign, the Broncs topped Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, but fell to Stephen F. Austin and UT-Arlington.

Following Sunday's contest, the Broncs will be back at home Tuesday to host Texas A & M-International. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. at the UTPA Fieldhouse.
