Final Stats

EL PASO, TX--The University of Texas-Pan American women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to the University of Texas-El Paso this Thursday (Feb. 26) afternoon at the El Paso Tennis Center in El Paso, Texas.

In singles play the Lady Broncs had to default at line five and six due to injuries. At line one singles, Luisa Cantu was defeated by Dariya Abdrakhmanova, 7-5, 6-2. Carolina DeLuca defeated Megan Bedeau, 6-2, 6-2 in line two singles. Nina Ciric lost to Marina DeLuca at line three singles, 7-6, (7-1) 6-1. In line four, Alexandra Glebova defeated Andrea Salvetove, 6-1, 6-2.

In doubles play, Carolina and Marina DeLuca defeated Cantu and Bedeau at line one, 8-2. Ciric and Salvetova defeated Ximena Fuentes and Glebova at line two, 8-6. The Lady Broncs defaulted at line three due to injuries.

"Today was a tough match because we went out with four girls only due to injuries. They went out and played hard but in the end we were unable to pull off the win," said graduate assistant Masha Klokotzky. "We expect to have five girls tomorrow and the girls plan to get after it," added Klokotzky.
