Luis Flores allowed only two TCU runs in eight innings of work, but the Broncs failed to provide any run support in a 2-0 loss to the #15 Horned Frogs Tuesday night at Lupton Stadium. The loss ends the Broncs (9-9) three game win streak.
Flores (L, 0-2) took the loss after allowing only one earned run, on just four TCU hits, walking one while striking out five as he shined in just his second collegiate start.

Jason Coats led off the inning with a bunt single to the third base side and would advance to second on a failed pick-off attempt by Flores. Two batters later Josh Elander hit a two-out single into center field to score Coats giving the Frogs a 1-0
TCU added an insurance run in the eighth to pad their lead going into the final frame. Taylor Featherston was hit by a Flores pitch and then scored on a two-out double down the left field line by Jantzen Witte padding the Frogs lead to 2-0.
Horned Frogs starter Erik Miller (W, 1-5) picked up his first win of the year, outdueling Flores by scattering seven hits in seven innings of work and striking out four Bronc batters. Andrew Mitchell pitched two innings and struck out to earn his second save of the season for TCU.
Vincent Mejia had a pair of hits with a 2-4 night at the plate to pace the Bronc offense.
The Broncs and Horned Frogs will face-off again on Wednesday night at Lupton Stadium for the second and final game of their mid-week series.
