BAKERSFIELD, California – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women's tennis team (0-2) finishes up this west coast swing when they visit the California State University Bakersfield Roadrunners (0-5) on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Stockdale Country Club.
This is the lone Great West Conference match of the season for both teams.
Last Time Out
The Broncs are coming off of a 1-6 loss to California State University Fullerton.
Wanda Beguelin picked up the Broncs' lone victory, defeating
Kalika Slevcove 7-6, 3-6, 12-10 in the #4 position. The other Broncs fell in straight-sets in singles while losing all three doubles matches.
The Series
This is the first ever meeting between the Broncs and the Roadrunners.
The Broncs have played California teams in the past, including the University of San Francisco (0-2), California State University Fullerton (0-1), San Francisco State University (1-0) and Santa Clara (1-0), giving the Broncs an all-time record of 2-3 against California teams.

The Roadrunners are coming off of a 1-6 loss to Cal-State Fullerton on Thursday, with the lone point coming from
Nelli Buiuklianova 7-6, 6-4 in the #5 position. The Roadrunners also picked up a win in the #3 position of double as

Nancy Ramirez teamed up for an 8-6 win.
The Roadrunners are 5-25 (.167) in singles this season, with four wins out of the #5 position and one out of the #6 position. Buiuklianova has one win in each of those positions while
Julian Mannix is 3-0 in the #5 spot.
The Roadrunners are 2-13 (.133) in doubles, with both wins coming out of the #3 position.
California Dreaming
The trip to California is marks a return for senior
Dana Nazarova, who attended American River College as a freshman and Sacramento State University as a sophomore. Both schools are located in Sacramento, 278 miles north of Bakersfield.
Broncs head coach
Stephanie Vallejos is from California, having grown up in Benecia, 280 miles north of Bakersfield.
