SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women's tennis team opens the season against the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners (2-0) on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the UTSA Tennis Center.
The Series
This is the 23
rd meeting all-time between the Broncs and Roadrunners in a series that dates back to 1986, the Broncs' first year of existence. The Broncs have three wins in that time, most recently in 2010 (4-2).
Scouting the Roadrunners
The Roadrunners are coming off of a 6-1 win over Laredo Community College on February 4. The lone loss came in the #1 singles position, where Barbora Bozkova beat Stefanie Peana 6-0, 6-2. The only other close contests were in the #3 singles spot, where Micaela Silva beat Calena Redondo 6-3, 6-4, and the #1 doubles spot, where Peana and Isabelle Johnson defeated Bozkva and Jennifer Betancourt 8-6.
The Roadrunners opened their season with a 6-0 win over Midwestern State on February 3.
