EDINBURG, Texas -- The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs baseball team (27-18, 14-10 Great West Conference) opens up its final home series of the season with a 7:00 p.m. game against the Houston Baptist University Huskies (22-29, 13-11 GWC) on Thursday at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.

The Broncs and Huskies are currently playing for seeding, as second place and fifth place are separated by four games with four to play. For a complete breakdown of the race, check out page 41 of the game notes.

  • The Broncs are 16-13 all-time against the Huskies in a series dating back to 1969. The Broncs are 3-5 against the Huskies in Great West Conference play, including a 2-2 mark last season.

  • The Bears shutout the Broncs for the second day in a row, 4-0.
  • After leading the Broncs in complete games last season, Luis Flores made his first start of the season, pitching six scoreless innings before allowing four runs while recording two outs in the seventh. He allowed five hits while striking out three.
  • Jonathan Delgado had his best outing of the season, pitching two scoreless innings of relief.
 
Broncs vs. University of Northern Colorado Bears (1) (5/13/12)
  • In the Broncs' second longest game of the season, they fell to the Bears 7-5 in 14 innings.
  • Chris Torres recorded his fifth three-hit game and seventh of at least three hits, going 3-for-6 with two runs scored.
  • Hitting leadoff the first time, Will Klausing went 2-for-6 with two RBI.
  • Michael Zouzalik allowed just one earned run (four total) in seven innings, striking out six while allowing one walk and six hits.
