CORPUS CHRISTI – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's basketball team (2-2) faces the IPFW Mastadons (1-2) on Saturday at 3 p.m. during the Holiday Inn Downtown Marina Islanders Basketball Tournament, hosted by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, at the American Bank Center.
It is the one year anniversary of their last meeting, a 97-94 triple overtime loss for the Broncs in the opening game of the EMU "Ice Man" Classic at Eastern Michigan.
Justin Leathers recorded his first-career double-double in that game with 18 points and 12 rebounds. He recorded his second-career double-double on Friday with 14 points and 12 rebounds. It was also the last time the Broncs had scored at least 94 points prior to Wednesday's win over Huston-Tillotson.
