Matt Harding came in and issued a four-pitch walk to Shane Klemcke to load the bases Hagy followed with a grounder to first to drive-in a run, and an error allowed Hagy to reach. One out later, Ammon doubled to the left center gap to clear the bases and make it 11-2.

The Huskies came right back to score two runs in the bottom of the third and knock out Broncs starter Luis Flores with one out, but La Joya alum Guadalupe Barrera (2-1) stopped the rally and pitched four and two-thirds innings of one-hit relief, striking out four, to end the game.
