EDINBURG – The University of Texas-Pan American Department of Intercollegiate Athletics introduced new men's basketball head coach Dan Hipsher, who had been the associate head coach at Alabama for the last four seasons, at a press conference on Friday.

He was with us for nine seasons and just did an unbelievable job. We had some good teams in there and he was the recruiter for us. We had an Elite 8 team in his time. He was very good with the players and a very knowledgeable basketball man. We were very excited for him when we heard the news.
