SAN ANTONIO – The University of Texas-Pan American women's team snapped a two-match losing streak after defeating the University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals 5-2 on Sunday at the Mabry Tennis Center.
 
The Broncs (2-3) picked up the doubles point after they won two-of-three matches. Didi Fatchikova and Mariana Ranzahuer defeated Kelsey Reblin and Brianah Creek 8-1 at No. 3 doubles. The duo of Reegan Greenwood and Katia Stavroulaki then beat Sarah Savedra and Taryn Strahl 8-4 at No. 2 doubles.
 
In singles, the Cardinals (0-4) got victories at No. 1 and 2 singles. The Broncs took the rest of the singles matches in straight sets. Wanda Beguelin beat Andi Botha 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Christel Amsallem defeated Strahl 6-3, 7-5 at No. 4 singles.
 
Greenwood defeated Kelsey Reblin 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 singles and it was Stanislava Stachova who closed out the match with a victory over Christina Rodriguez 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.
 
The Broncs are back in action on Feb. 21 when they face Valparaiso University at 1 p.m.
