EL PASO – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women's tennis team defeated the Western New Mexico Mustangs 4-0 on Thursday in a neutral site match at the El Paso Tennis Club.
 
The Broncs (6-7) took control of the match as they grabbed the doubles point from the Mustangs (5-10). The team of Reegan Greenwood and Katia Stavroulaki defeated the team of Ganna Tiurina and Annica Betz 8-5 at No. 1 doubles. Lison Le Biavant and Mariana Ranzahuer then beat Ashley Newell and Diamon Morrill 8-4 at No 2 doubles to secure the point.
 
In singles, the Broncs won three-straight singles matches to clinch the match and its sixth win of the season. Stavroulaki posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Tiurina at No. 1 singles as she improved her singles record to 8-5. Greenwood added a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Newell at No. 3 singles. It was Greenwood's sixth straight win and her team-high ninth singles victory of the spring.
 
Ranzahuer closed out the match with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Tiffany Newell at No. 6 singles. The rest of the singles matches were stopped once the match was clinched.
 
The Broncs are back in action when they face Western Athletic Conference opponent Grand Canyon University on Friday at 1 p.m. at the New Mexico State Tennis Center.
