GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros men's soccer team fell to the UNC Greensboro Spartans 2-0 on Friday at UNCG Soccer Stadium.
The Spartans (3-1-1) got on the board just under 10 minutes into the match when
Ben Burdon dribbled through the defense and found the back of the net.
That was it until there was just over 10 minutes remaining, as
Jacques Francois made a long run up the field and sent the ball through to
Damieon Thomas for the goal.
Vaqueros (1-2-1) junior goalkeeper
Leo Castillo (0-2-1) made five saves while
Logan Rhode (3-1-1) made one for the shutout.
The Vaqueros were outshot 14-11, including 7-1 on goal.
The Vaqueros are back in action on Sunday at noon when they visit Presbyterian.
