LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's soccer team fell to New Mexico State 1-0 on Saturday at the NM State Soccer Athletic Complex.
Six of UTRGV's (10-7-1, 2-5-0 WAC) losses have been by one goal, including four of the WAC losses. Opponents have scored the game-winning goal in the 84
th minute or later in those four WAC losses.
NM State (5-12-1, 2-3-2 WAC) scored the game-winner at 83:49 when

Freshman goalkeeper
Kinga Szemik (6-6-0) made three saves
UTRGV outshot NM State 16-7, including 7-4 on goal. Junior
Andreya Barrera led UTRGV with six shots, including four on goal.
Ashley Martin (4-7-1) made seven saves.
UTRGV opens the WAC Tournament against host and No. 3 UMKC on Thursday at 4 p.m. The winner will face No. 1 Seattle U on Friday.
