EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros women's tennis team looks to remain unbeaten at home as they return to action on Sunday to host the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners at 10 a.m. at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
Gates open at 9 a.m. Admission is free and fans are encouraged to attend.
Last Time OutThe Vaqueros haven't had a match since January 31 when they defeated the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas 6-1 at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
The Vaqueros swept through doubles to grab the early 1-0 lead and then won their singles matches on courts two, five and three to clinch the match.
The Javelinas got their lone point on court six but the Vaqueros closed out the match with wins on courts four and one.
Scouting the RoadrunnersThe Roadrunners are 4-7 heading into their match with the Vaqueros on Sunday after falling to the Air Force on Friday in San Antonio.
Jacobea Junger leads the Roadrunners with a (7-2) record in singles with two others having recorded six singles wins in M. Rosell Canudas and Lina Hallgren.
The Roadrunners have used just three doubles teams this spring. Canudas and Junger have teamed to post a (7-3) record while Hallgren and Charlene Tiwari have posted a 7-2 record.
The All-Time SeriesThe Vaqueros are 3-23 all-time against the Roadrunners in a series that dates back to 1990. The Roadrunners came away with a 6-1 victory over the Vaqueros last season in San Antonio.
The Vaqueros have lost five straight to the Roadrunners as the last time the Vaqueros beat the Roadrunners came back on March 14, 2010 as the Vaqueros beat them 4-2 at Cimarron Country Club in Mission.

Reegan Greenwood is currently seventh in program history with 45 career singles wins. She is two away from Silke Buksik (2005-08) for sixth place and just five wins away from Tania Webster (1988-91) for fifth place. Ellen Nelissen (1991-95) tops the all-time list with 67 wins.
