HOUSTON – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros men's tennis team fell 0-4 to the No. 33 Rice University Owls on Saturday at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
 
The Vaqueros (7-8) fell behind early as the Owls (14-3) recorded victories on doubles courts two and three to clinch the point.
 
The Owls then won on singles courts six, two and three to clinch the match. The Vaqueros had an opportunity to win a couple of singles matches before they went unfinished. Junior Juan Cruz Soria led 7-6, 4-2 against Jamie Malik on court one and sophomore Koby Jansen split sets with Emanuel Llamas on court four.
 
The Vaqueros continue their spring break trip on Monday when they face Nicholls State at 2 p.m.
