KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's soccer closed out their road portion of their schedule with a 2-1 loss to the University of Missouri Kansas City on Friday at Durwood Stadium.

Tuva Rolstad Nilsen took the free kick from about 45 yards out putting it passed UMKC goalie Anna Lillig for her second goal of the season.
UMKC (10-6-1, 5-0-0 WAC) tied the match at the 62:25 mark as Kelsey Mothershead took the pass from Maddi Cipolla the length of the field before putting up a shot from 10 yards out scoring for the sixth time of the season.
Lexie Howard then scored her ninth goal of the season at the 66:37 after heading the pass from Mothershead into the goal to make it 2-1 UMKC.
UTRGV had two shots in the final minutes of the game but were unable to tie the match.
UTRGV out shot UMKC nine to eight with both teams putting five shots on goal.
Szemik (2-4-2) finished the match with three saves while Lillig (6-4) recorded four saves.
UTRGV will return home to host Chicago State on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
