EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's soccer team won its Western Athletic Conference (WAC) opener 1-0 over Grand Canyon University (GCU) on Friday at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.

UTRGV is back in action on Sunday at 11 a.m. against CSU Bakersfield at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
