EDINBURG – Junior
Cris Castillo hit a walk-off single in the 10

Senior
Victor Garcia Jr. led off the 10

Ryan Hawkins came in and proceeded to walk senior

That made a winner of senior
Austin Douglas (1-0), who worked out of a bases loaded, one-out jam in the top of the inning by getting a strikeout and a pop-up.
UTRGV (4-0) trailed 4-0 after two innings, but loaded the bases with nobody out in the fourth to set-up an RBI-single by freshman La Joya alum
Anibal Leal.
UTRGV scored another run in the sixth when, with Leal at second, junior
Noah Lee hit a liner to left.
Christian Sanchez booted the ball in the field, allowing Leal to score to make it 4-2.
Senior
Jose Garcia tied the game with a two-run home run that left the premises well beyond the left field wall in the seventh.
The comeback was made possible by the UTRGV bullpen, which pitched 8.2 innings of scoreless relief.
It started with senior
Eddie Delgado halting a three-run second by TSU (0-4) and then pitching a career-high tying 5.2 innings and striking out a career-high seven while scattering four hits and one walk.
Junior
Josh Witherspoon followed with two strikeouts in two scoreless innings before Douglas entered with a runner on first and nobody out in the 10
th to toss his scoreless frame.
UTRGV is back in action on Friday at 7 p.m. when it opens up a four-game series against Prairie View A&M at UTRGV Baseball Stadium. The game will be televised throughout Texas on Spectrum Sports channel 323.
