Scouting Lamar
Lamar is coming off of a two-week hiatus in play as they have posted a 3-2 record so far this season.
Lamar has won two in a row after defeating Alcorn State twice back on February 11 in Beaumont.
They started off the season with a 7-0 win over Prairie View A&M back on January 21 in Prairie View. Lamar followed that with a pair of losses to Rice and North Texas before beating Alcorn State.
Jasmin Buchta leads Lamar with a 4-1 singles record while playing all of her matches at the No. 3 spot. Katya Lapayeva has played at the No. 1 spot all year while posting a 3-2 record on the season.
Sanja Jolic, Talisa Merchiers and Anna Spengler have each recorded two wins on the season.
In doubles, Buchta and Hanna Elfving have teamed up to post a 4-1 record while playing at the No. 3 spot. Merchiers and Stephanie Marchena have recorded a 3-2 record while playing at the No. 2 spot.
Lamar has only used three doubles teams this semester.

UTRGV is 7-18 against Lamar all-time in a series that dates back to 1989.
This will be the first time these two teams have faced each other since 2012 when Lamar came away with the 7-0 victory in Beaumont.
The last time UTRGV defeated Lamar was back on February 1, 2002 when picked up the 6-1 win at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
