EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley baseball team dropped game two of a doubleheader to Seattle U 6-5 on Friday at UTRGV Baseball Stadium.
 
UTRGV (19-19, 3-8 WAC) scored its first four runs in the fifth when, down 5-0 after a four-run top of the inning by Seattle U (12-20-1, 4-7 WAC), junior Austin Siener launched a three-run home run and freshman Tyler Torres hit an RBI-single to make it 5-4.
 
That was it against Janson Junk (4-4), who struck out seven while allowing five hits and six walks in five innings.
 
After Seattle U added a run in the sixth on a wild pitch, UTRGV pulled within one in the eighth on an RBI-single by Jose Garcia, who finished 2-for-4 with a walk.
 
Zach Wolf pitched a scoreless ninth for his second save.
 
Four of the first five Seattle U hitters hit singles to make it 1-0 in the first. Making his first-career start, sophomore Brownsville Veterans alum Luis Acosta (0-1) settled down from there, retiring 10 of the next 11 hitters he faced.
 
In the fifth, however, Seattle U loaded the bases with one out to set-up an RBI-single by Aaron Stroosma. One out later, Jack Reisinger hit a two-run single to knock out Acosta, who struck out a career-high five in a career-high 4.2 innings while allowing eight hits and two walks.
 
Reisinger finished 2-for-5 with three RBI.
 
Senior Joseph Collazo posted his eighth multi-hit game, going 2-for-5 with a run scored.
 
UTRGV and Seattle U complete the series on Saturday at 12 p.m. in a game that will be televised throughout Texas on Spectrum Sports channel 323. It's Jackie Robinson Day. The first 150 fans in attendance will receive commemorative Jackie Robinson baseball shirts. Gates open at 11 a.m.
