SAN MARCOS – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley women's tennis team wrapped up their regular season with a 1-6 loss to Texas State University on Saturday at the Texas State Tennis Complex.
 
UTRGV (4-15, 2-3 WAC) fell behind early in the match as they dropped the doubles point to Texas State (7-10). The managed to win on court one as the team of Dominique Ibarra and Marine Darzyan defeated Eva Dench and Alex Jones 6-2 but Texas State won court two after getting the win on court three.
 
In singles, Texas State won on five of the six courts to put the match away but UTRGV would not be shutout as Chloe Leclere picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win over Joy Chia on court four.
 
UTRGV will be back in action at the Western Athletic Conference Tournament, which starts on April 28 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
