EDINBURG – After having its first two scheduled matches of the season cancelled due to Hurricane Harvey, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley men's soccer team (0-0-0) opens up the 2017 season against St. Bonaventure (2-0-0) during day one of the Rio Grande Valley Invitational on Friday at 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.

Houston Baptist faces Omaha in the first match of the day at 4.

UTRGV Athletics is collecting supplies to be distributed in areas affected by Hurricane Harvey.
 
The Food Bank RGV, which is working with H-E-B to handle collection and distribution, is encouraging the donation of:
•Bottled Water
•Peanut Butter
•Easy Open Tuna
•Potted Meat
•Vienna Sausages
•Paper Towels
•Toilet Paper
  
Fans donating at least five individual non-perishable food items at the UTRGV Athletics main office will receive free admission.
  
Current UTRGV students, who already receive free admission, will receive Orange Out for Hunger Action Month T-shirts while supplies last.
 
All fans are encouraged to wear orange throughout the weekend to show support for disaster relief efforts.

Additionally, fans have the chance to get "Friday Night Fútbol" soccer stress balls during the UTRGV match while supplies last.
