EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley men's soccer team (0-0-1) plays its first of three home matches against currently ranked teams when it hosts No. 21 Omaha (3-0-0) during day two of the Rio Grande Valley Invitational on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
Houston Baptist faces St. Bonaventure in the first match of the day at 4.
UTRGV Athletics is collecting supplies to be distributed in areas affected by Hurricane Harvey.
The Food Bank RGV, which is working with H-E-B to handle collection and distribution, is encouraging the donation of:
•Bottled Water
•Peanut Butter
•Easy Open Tuna
•Potted Meat
•Vienna Sausages
•Paper Towels
•Toilet Paper
Fans donating at least five individual non-perishable food items will receive free admission.
Current UTRGV students, who already receive free admission, will receive Orange Out for Hunger Action Month T-shirts while supplies last.
All fans are encouraged to wear orange to show support for disaster relief efforts.
Additionally, fans will receive one free ticket to every Sunday home UTRGV soccer match with the purchase of a ticket of equal or greater value, courtesy of
Plaza Sports.
