UTRGV Women's Soccer Drops Road Match to Oral Roberts

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's soccer team fell 2-1 to Oral Roberts University on Friday night at Case Soccer Complex in the first of two road matches this weekend.
 
UTRGV (4-4-2) took the early 1-0 lead as graduate student Andreya Barrera scored at 13:01 mark. Freshman Gina Steiner got the assist on Barrera's third goal of the season.
 
Oral Roberts got on the board seven minutes later as Caitlyn Hanslovan took the pass from Nelly Mamabolo and put it in the goal at the 20:04 mark tying the match at one.
 
Rachel Roberts gave Oral Roberts the lead for good as she scored at the 29:53 mark making it 2-1.
 
UTRGV outshot Oral Roberts on goal 6-5 and outshot them overall 16-15.
 
UTRGV will be back in action on Sunday when they travel to Little Rock, Arkansas to face Arkansas Little Rock at 1 p.m.
