LUBBOCK – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's tennis team fell 0-5 to No. 25 Texas Tech University on Sunday at McLeod Tennis Center.
Texas Tech opened doubles with a win on court one and then clinched the point with a victory on court three. UTRGV's (1-2) duo of sophomore Dennis Boisseau and senior
Koby Jansen were going toe-to-toe with Matheus Leite and Ilgiz Valiev on court two as the match was tied at four before it went unfinished after the clinching of the point.
In singles, Texas Tech won on courts two, three, four and one to close out the match as the matches on courts five and six played eight game pro sets and didn't factor into the scoring.
UTRGV will be back in action on January 27 when they host Prairie View A&M in its home opener at the Orville Cox Tennis Center at 11 a.m.
