EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw against Seattle University on Sunday at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
UTRGV (9-5-2, 3-1-1 WAC) and Seattle U (6-7-3, 4-1-1 WAC) couldn't convert on its chances as UTRGV outshot Seattle U 25 to 15 and 10 to 5 with shots on goal.
Junior
Kinga Szemik finished the match with five saves while recording her first shutout of the season. Seattle U's goalie Ariana Romero finished the match with 10 saves with two of her saves coming in the first overtime period.
Freshman
Emily Zapata led both teams with 10 shots in the match with three on goal.
UTRGV returns to action on Friday, October 19, when it travels to Chicago to face Chicago State at 1 p.m.
