First Day Results

WACO – Junior Clément Sarradin picked up a win in the first round of the singles main draw to lead The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's tennis team on the first day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Tournament on Friday at the Hurd Tennis Center.
 
Sarradin faced off against TCU's Bertus Kruger in the round of 128 in the singles main draw. Sarradin opened with a 6-2 win in the first set and then followed with a 6-3 win in the second to advance to face Baylor's Will Little where he fell 2-6, 3-6.
 
Also in the round of 128, Samuel de Felipe Garcia went toe-to-toe with Rice's Conrad Russell. De Felipe Garcia fell 0-6 in the first set but battle back with a 6-3 win in the second before falling 4-6 in the third. 
 
Paly will continue on Saturday with doubles and the singles consolation round starting at 9 a.m.
