EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's soccer team set a new program record for most wins in a season with 11 after defeating California Baptist University (CBU) on Sunday at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
UTRGV (11-5-2, 5-1-1 WAC) surpasses the win total from 2016 with one more match still to be played. The win also sets a new program record for conference wins in the season with five surpassing last season's total of four.

Kinga Szemik(8-5-2) faced just one shot on goal making the save for her third shutout of the season.
UTRGV outshot CBU 15 to 7 and 7 to 1 on goal.
UTRGV will close out the season on October 27 when it travels to Las Cruces, New Mexico to face New Mexico State at 5 p.m.
