"It's very rare that a top 10 program like Oklahoma comes down here," UTRGV head coach
Lew Hill said. "[Oklahoma head] coach [Lon] Kruger got his start here and I've worked with him, so we're looking forward to having him come back. This is a special treat for our fans."
The Oklahoma game is the first of at least 12 games against 2018 postseason participants, including Texas Tech, which reached the Elite Eight, Houston, which advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, defending WAC Champion and NCAA Tournament participant New Mexico State twice, CBI participants Grand Canyon, Seattle U and Utah Valley twice each, and CIT participant Lamar.
After playing its first two games at home, UTRGV takes a trip to Corpus Christi for the South Texas Showdown, presented by Navy Army Community Credit Union, on Nov. 12. UTRGV hosts Prairie View A&M on Nov. 14 before visiting East Carolina and Georgia Tech on Nov. 19 and 21, respectively.
UTRGV returns home to face Lamar on Nov. 23 and then hosts Corpus Christi for the South Texas Showdown, presented by Navy Army Community Credit Union, on Nov. 26.

UTRGV then visits Texas Tech on Dec. 28 and UC Irvine on Jan. 3 before opening the WAC slate against new member California Baptist on Jan. 5.
UTRGV plays the WAC home opener on Jan. 10 against CSU Bakersfield and Grand Canyon comes to town two days later.
UTRGV visits Seattle U and Utah Valley the following weekend and then returns home to face New Mexico State on Jan. 26, Chicago State on Jan. 31, and Kansas City on Feb. 2.

UTRGV closes out the regular season at home on March 7 against California Baptist.
The WAC Tournament runs March 14-16 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The WAC Tournament Champion earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
"The WAC is underrated," Hill said. "The conference is getting better each and every year. A lot of teams have built up their programs, including us, so we're going to play tough games every night and we need to make sure we win those games at home in front of our rowdy crowds."
All home games are currently scheduled to be played at the UTRGV Fieldhouse with a start time of 7 p.m.
