JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's soccer team won its fourth straight match after defeating Jacksonville University 2-0 on Tuesday at Southern Oak Stadium.
The four straight wins is the longest win streak under UTRGV head coach
Paul Leese surpassing last season's three match win streak when it defeated Loyola-Chicago, Northern Illinois, and Our Lady of the Lake.
UTRGV (5-2) put the pressure on Jacksonville (0-7) throughout the match outshooting them 14-3 and 5-0 on goal.

William Akio got UTRGV on the board in the first half with his second goal of the season at 20:33 as he took the pass off of a corner kick from senior
Isidro Martinez, who recorded his third assist.
In the second half, Martinez extended UTRGV's lead with a goal of his own. After taking a shot and missing wide, Martinez came right back to score his second goal of the season at 67:55.
UTRGV returns home to open Western Athletic Conference play on Saturday, September 22, when it hosts UNLV at 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex. It will be Friends and Family Night where fans can get four tickets, four hotdogs, and four drinks for $25. Doors open at 6 p.m.
