EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's soccer team won the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) opener 2-0 over UNLV on Saturday at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
UTRGV (6-2-0, 1-0-0 WAC) is now on a five-match winning streak, its longest at the NCAA Division I level since winning the first six matches of the 1992 season.
This is UTRGV's second-straight shutout. UTRGV is now on a 231:14 shutout streak.

That made a winner of junior
Andy Rios (5-2-0), who made third saves for UTRGV.
UNLV (5-4-0, 0-1-0 WAC) outshot UTRGV 13-10, but UTRGV led in shots on goal 4-3.
UTRGV is back in action on Thursday at 8 p.m. at Utah Valley.
