KANSAS CITY, Mo. – No. 25 The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's soccer team fell 2-1 to the Kansas City Roos on Sunday at Durwood Stadium. 
 
UTRGV (7-3, 3-2 WAC) jumped out to the early lead on senior 
Kyle Edwards' seventh goal of the season. After a penalty in the box, Edwards converted on his second penalty kick of the season to give UTRGV the 1-0 lead in the ninth minute.
 
Kansas City (3-7-0, 2-3-0 WAC) answered back in the 22
ndminute. 
Ryan Khedoo took the pass from 
Jordan Salt and scored to the match at 1-1.
 
In the second half, 
Mikhail McComie gave Kansas City the 2-1 lead in the 68
thminute that proved to be the game-winner.
 
UTRGV had an opportunity in the final seconds of the match with a free kick but goalie Filippo Errico made one of his 10 saves to secure the victory for Kansas City.
 
UTRGV outshot Kansas City 19 to 9 and 12 to 4 on goal. 
 
UTRGV will be back in action on Saturday, October 19, when it hosts Grand Canyon at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex at 7 p.m. Admission is complimentary, courtesy of Entravision. Gates open at 6 p.m.
